Did you run into Tom Berenger? I believe he lives there. Were you able to check out Kiawha Island?

No on both counts. Only had a short afternoon and the next morning in town...was there for a boot camp graduation.
We'll likely go back at some point, in conjunction with our next Charleston trip.

Beaufort is one of the best towns on the East Coast. I enjoy it far more than Savannah. And the drive from Coosawhatchie to Beaufort is like stepping back in time.

Beaufort is pretty but very small. I covered it an a half day. Good for a day trip from Charleston but not sure if I could live there. Savannah to me is a mixture between New Orleans and Charleston just smaller than both.
