I've heard mixed reviews. Thinking about a trip there this coming spring. Any suggestions or advice on it are appreciated.

I have done 2 excursions there with my wife. The 1st time we had an absolute blast. The water slides are second to none and pretty exhilarating. The dolphins were pretty cool too. I wouldn't recommend going a 2nd time as the allure wears off. Even though we didn't stay at the resort itself, it's pretty neat. If you love gambling, watching sports, and and more gambling I'm sure you'll have a good time. Also, there are high end stores there like Louis Vuitton

What are you expecting to get out of it? We can then tell you if we got those same results.

Overall it's massive, expensive and clean.

I've gone twice. First time was great, it was a ghost town, right after market crashed.

Second time, it was way over crowded and will not go back.

Not to be a smart arse but a great vacation. I've checked the rates as far as the rooms are concerned. Airfare getting there and what not. I've heard stories about it. Some good, some bad.

Do you guys drink a lot?
Do you guys have kids?
Do you enjoy motorized water sports?
Do you want to snorkel and/or dive?
Are you wanting to eat at super nice restaurants or street food carts?

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews. Seems very expensive for rooms, food, drinks, and crazy arse taxes

We are basic. Sit by a pool and enjoy some adult beverages. Good food at nice restaurants is perefered. I'm assuming the beginning of hurricane season is the off season for the place? Cheaper rooms and what not?

We went there with our (9yr old at the time) stayed there on property. It was good. Decent water park, nice restaurants, etc. kid clubs activities and the ultimate Jr. animal trainer were great kid activities. We don't gamble.
For a water park, the amenities were better than others we've been to in Florida, Texas, and Wisconsin.

We went a few years ago and stayed at Atlantis. We had a great time at the water park and did a dive with their resident Mantis. You can spend a few days here .rooms weren't overly expensive but definitely not cheap. One thing about the resort is the restaurants are on the expensive side and they aren't that great IMO. We taxied down to The One and Only Ocean Club about a mile or so away for drinks and dinner. It was expensive but worth it. Taxied out another night for Seafood and it was very good. Atlantis is a cool place.

Be careful on the beach renting jet skis from locals. Sometimes they run scams and claim you damaged or scratched them. Next thing you know they are wanting a few hundred for repairs. We rented on the beach there once before on a cruise stop and didn't have any problems but I have heard of a few issues since.

i went last summer. i was skeptical, because i don't usually like massive resorts, but i had an absolute blast. i went with my in-laws, and most of the trip was comped by the casino, so i got to avoid the worst part of it, which is the cost.

are you taking family? my son was two at the time and he loved it too.

If you're gonna pay that much to stay at Atlantis, just go to the One and Only, just down the street. Much nicer, less crowds, more adult and more relaxing. Atlantis is like disney/vegas in the islands.

We went to the casino there one night and it just looks like a complete clusterfrick.

Kids running all around in the casino, super crowded

Stayed there one night cause I was drunk and couldn't find my hotel. I saw the lobby and my room only. The bed was comfy. That's all I got.

I go there on our guys trip every year. It's like Vegas with a beach. Yes, it's expensive to eat and drink but we always have fun. Only done the slide thing once. We typically hang out at the adult only pool.

Nobu is good but very pricey. There are other restaurants nearby but it is not a foodie destination.
