Are Southwest flights going well today? Heard today is the day to get their shite together

Son has a flight tomorrow and has about 45 minutes to cancel it.
He has a second flight booked on another carrier in case he needs to cancel SWA.

they had only canceled 30 something as of this morning... So looks like back to normal operation.
I did get an email stating they were extending my companion pass by a month due to the situation and so I could take advantage of getting that last tip in before expiration...
Doesn't change the fact that they cancelled and ruined an xmas trip for my kid.

So far every flight out of San Jose this morning has departed and the connecting flights that are in progress are boarding or have departed. About 8 flights... looks like it's massively better.

According to Flightaware, they have only cancelled 5 flights today. 2 from Reno/Tahoe and 1 each from KC, William Hobby, and Daughtery.
