My wife and I are in our mid 30s. We were originally planning to take our two young kids to the beach but now we may flip the script and take a trip sans kids.

Would prefer not to break the bank with the trip. I’m open to flying(currently live in SE Louisiana) if the prices aren’t ridiculous. We are open to just about anything (beach, mountains, outdoors, skiing, etc.)

What y’all got? Any ideas?

Last April we went to Charleston and the weather was great at that time. We flew direct from MSY on Breeze Airlines (can’t remember the price but it’s a discount airline).

Charleston is great that time of year. The gardens at Boone Hall, Magnolia and Middleton will be in full bloom. Weather shouldn't be too hot or cold. If you want to go to one of the beaches they aren't nearly as crowded as in summer.

I love some good spring skiing. Short sleeve shirts, lots of beers, and an even more relaxed environment. Need to take a look and see what mountains have good coverage and plan on staying open until May.

Maybe Mammoth or something in Utah?

Napa Valley at Chateau de Vie

The carriage house is my recommendation. Can’t speak on anything else. It wasn’t cheap. That’s why I didn’t specifically mention to OP as he didn’t want to break the bank.

following. looking to do a similar trip with wife and newborn. hoping to not go too far but the eclipse covers a lot of good areas and happens to be the exact weekend we're looking to go.

highlands/cashiers or asheville is on my shortlist, but I might have to change weekends and/or reroute to somewhere a little easier to travel to (1/2 flight(s) vs flight + 2-3 hr drive).
