Thinking about taking a trip later this year and doing a direct flight with Delta and bringing my pup along. However he’s too big to go on the plane so would have to fly cargo. Looks like since Covid it’s because much more of a cumbersome process, have to drop off at Delta Air Cargo and pick up there as well, no guarantees they’ll be on your flight, etc. Just wondering if anyone has done this and how it went.

Absolutely not. I’ve heard too many horror stories of pets getting lost for hours and not making it to the final destination, it can get incredibly cold in cargo, etc.

I would never put my dog in that situation.

Step 1: Go to Amazon
Step 2: Buy Support Animal Vest
Step 3: Buy two seats
Step 4: Board as normal

As someone who chases birds all over the country with a hunting dog

Get a private plane or drive. Unfortunately that’s really the only realistic solutions

From a trip this year
