Anybody have any inside info on USVI boat charters?

Probably just island hopping, snorkeling, but open to fishing, too.

Rockhoppin Adventures
Steve is a good guy. There are itineraries on the site or you can build your own.

Yeah, I think I've checked him out before. Obliged.

I've been wanting to do this for a bit now, but now have to wait because of kids. So maybe in 2-3 years.
What are you wanting to know? What kind of boat are you thinking about?

I mean, I've found some of the guys like Steve, above, online, I was really just seeing if anybody had any insider local knowledge. Thinking about it though, if we want to island hop to the BVIs (we do), it would probably make the most sense to go with a more legit type charter than hanging out at the marina and trying to hitch a ride in a gypsy cab. I don't know, going in two weeks and haven't made any reservations boat wise.

Cruise the BVIs instead of USVIs. You can get a charter boat with a captain from the Moorings or Sunsail or a private smaller operator. Jost, peter, cooper, virgin gorda, sandy cay, half moon bay, etc...
Take a drink anytime mentions "this is the bay, harbor, bar that inspired that Jimmy Buffet song."

Steve's buddy Marty is a good captain and can do a multi day trip for you. I don't know what you'll find on short notice though. We did Virgin Gorda, Cooper Island and the Willie T with Marty a few weeks ago on a day trip.

Or Kenny Chesney song although he does mention a lot of places by name.
The biggest one with Buffet is all the places that claim to be where Cheeseburger in Paradise was inspired.

Cool man. That's kind of what I had in mind.

Captain is Jason Siska who was on one of the Survivor seasons. Cool dude who grew up on St. John so he knows his stuff. We did a trip with him leaving St. John, then to Tortola for customs, then snorkeled the Indians, then snorkeled the Caves on Norman Island, then had lunch and drinks on the Willy T, then wrapped up the trip at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke. Again, I cannot recommend it enough. We were just 2 couples, but I think he can accommodate about 5 couples on his boat.

Next time check out the aquarium on Norman Island instead. There's a ton of different species there. It's in the bay to the left as you approach the Willie T.

Cheeseburger in Paradise has lots of claimaints, but I recall Le Select on St. Barth's is the actual one. Of course, this hasn't been proven in a court of law as best I know.
