Will be traveling there next week. Looking for places to eat, things to do outside of the Baseball H.O.F. and watching my kid play baseball.

I had a fieldtrip there for an anthropology class to a medieval renaissance setup on the outskirts of town, wonder if that's still around. I'd probably just enjoy the scenery around there, much better visiting now than in the winter . Which direction are you headed from, Syracuse, Albany, NYC?? Saratoga Springs is a nice town with shopping if you've got a woman with you, but it's an hr 45 min away near the Adirondacks.

Flying into Syracuse and driving into Cooperstown from there. We have a farmhouse rented with a big pond. Will be arriving in Syracuse in the afternoon Friday. How much traffic can I expect between there and Cooperstown?

sorry for laughing but anything you experience there will be a breeze compared to BR/Nola traffic. If y'all are looking for a good afternoon/dinner place in Syracuse, I would highly recommend Pastabilities, Dino BBQ, or Empire Brewery (they have food + beer). Not sure if you went up for the Syracuse LSU game, but those places are awesome. You could also go take a look around Syracuse's campus and Crouse college (it's the harry potter looking building overlooking campus), would give you some great views of the city (or the law school).

If you don't want to venture from the airport to the city, just get on 90 and head east. If you do end up in the city or by cuse's campus, then take 690 East to 481 North to 90 East. 90 is a toll road, 690 and 481 are free.

Thanks Cuse, didn't go to the LSU-Orangmen game. IDT we will be hanging out any in Syracuse, we have to meet the homeowner at the farmhouse we renting Early Friday evening and check the kid in that night.

Ommegang brewery.

Not the best one. Council Rock right outside of town is very small but has great food and outstanding beer. Also Cooperstown Brewing, owned by descendants of Adolphus Busch. There is also Cooperstown Distillery right in the middle of town.

Don't know for sure. CR and Ommegang serve food, the other two do not.

ETA : We ate at Bocca, Hawkeye Grill, Mel's 22 and Hardball Cafe (took a break from HOF and had lunch here). All were very good.

Gotta hit up Lake Otsego. The kids swimming is awesome in that lake. The Hall of Fame area has its baseball stuff obviously but a couple good eating places and some memorabilia. Greatest time I ever had around baseball.

Thanks, A teammate has a house on the lake rented out, we plan to spend a little time there. The closer I get the more excited I am. We got a pretty good pool play draw it looks like. 4 of the 6 teams don't look much better than us on paper, hopefully we win a few.

Daughter should be fine at these establishments. What team y'all with. Gonna follow on Dreams Park TV. You know people back home can watch games y'all play on fields 1-10?

Good Luck!! Will check it out!

Gotta Do Things
1. Take pics on Cooperstown stones by entrance of park. They let you do so the last 2 days.
2. Wait and go to Hall of Fame Thursday. Don't try and fit it in during week. Too much to see and so little time.
3. Go to closing ceremonies and Championship game. Great Environment

This thread brings back some memories. I played there in 96 or 97. Most fun I've ever had playing baseball. 2 major leaguers came off that team I played with that year.

I remember that lake being super clear. And the only food I ate on that trip besides at the park was some pizza in town. It was good from what I remember.

We drove to Niagara falls after the tournament was over. Then drove back home. Miserable ride at 12 yrs old.
