Anniversary weekend in Albuquerque or Santa Fe

We are planning a long weekend in Albuquerque next month, I have been advised to drive straight to Santa Fe on arrival and do not waste 1 minute in Albuquerque?

Good advice. Take it. Spent 3 weeks in Santa Fe this summer and loved it. Never once thought of going to Albuquerque.

I am doing both next month as well. It has been 25 years since I have been in that area. There has to be some fun things to do/see in Albuquerque. Maybe look for Walter White's money?

You're just an absolute fricking moron if you don't go to Santa Fe for the entirety of your trip.
Seriously. I will want to strangle you if you spin any time in ABQ over SF.
That said, Albuquerque does have a direct train that'll take you to Santa Fe. LINK
If you want to spend any time outside of Santa Fe (why?), Taos is 90 minutes North.

The only reason to ever go to ABQ at all is the food, but you'll be in Santa Fe which has better food. No need to go to ABQ.

I've been to both. Totally different experiences. I'd go straight to Santa Fe.
