Alpharetta Ga. Hotels/Lodging in October

Heading up for a weekend in October to see some music. Looking for something cool in the ~$100 range. Any suggestions besides the norm?
I figure with the 30 milers distance to Atlanta, we might as well check out options in the closer surrounding towns. Thoughts? We will have a car. Thanks.

Alpharetta is basically Atlanta now. Complete with terrible local traffic.
You will find every restaurant you can think of there, and you can find good local places (Hop Alley Brew Pub), but the only hotels I know of are the usual suspects. Not saying there aren't any with some character.
Good luck.

Alpharetta is one of the most wealthy suburbs of Atlanta and the prices will reflect that on hotels. I would imagine you could get around the same ballpark prices on hotels closer to the city and have more things to do. Assuming you're going to Verizon ampitheater, it's not a bad drive up 400 on the weekends.
Also I wouldn't recommend staying north of Alpharetta as they are doing roadwork on 400 on nights and weekends.

Verizon Amphitheater?
A few hotels on exit 11 that people stay at, but for closeness to the venue stay around exit 8. There are some easy restaurants and top golf is there on the way to verizon.
As far as cheaper, head north on 400, there is a hotel on both Exit 12 and 13 in forsyth

Cumming has plenty around $100 that is decent on HWY 20 at exit 14

I used to stay at the Holiday Inn Express at exit 14 or the Hyatt House at Windward Pkwy. Both solid options
