SWA has slipped a lot on this list, too.

It's worth noting that not all delayed flights are the fault of the airline. For example, Southwest's problems this Christmas were due to fog at Chicago Midway (which lacks the tech to allow landings in bad weather) JetBlue is based out of NYC, and the FAA has had persistent air traffic control problems over NYC, which has led to a lot of delays.
But Delta is 1st on this list for a reason, as all regular fliers know.

That’s just a tiny fraction of the 1,000,000 flights southwest operated last year.

American, Delta, and United all have hubs in the NYC area and probably operate just as many, if not more, individual flights than jetblue from nyc.

I'm always amazed by how much folks love Delta. Maybe it's because I travel out of Houston, but I have been delayed in Atlanta every single time I've traveled Delta. I'll stick with United. (But Continental was much better!)

If you live in Houston, you have no reason to fly anything else except for United, with Houston being one of their major hubs. I fly 3 round trips a month with Delta, and I'm rarely delayed except the wintertime, when all airlines have issues due to weather.
