Looking for some ideas to go for 10 year anniversary that doesn't break the bank, leaving LA. Any nice trips you have gone on?
No beach trip please

Mid August for about 3 nights.
I'd like to stay around $2k

Rules out Hedonism II..

What kind of trip do you want? What kind of budget? What time of year? Some key questions.

Off the cuff..

Hawaii?

I loved our trip to Vancouver Island. Stayed in Victoria at Abigali's. Very quaint and romantic. Tour Butchart Gardens.

We later drove over to Sooke Harbor on the coast. Amazing view of the Olympic Pennisula and Hurricane Ridge.

Just got back from Charleston. May be too hot for August tho. 4 nights was around $3,500. That includes hotel, flights, tourist things, food, and a few souvenirs.

Great romantic place, especially if your wife likes The Notebook.

If you are looking to travel in August...

1a — Carmel, CA
1b — Martha’s Vineyard, MS
2 — Banff, Canada

Abigail's B&B on Victoria Island was recommended above. Wonderful place. We stayed there. It is a block behind the Empress Hotel which is the center of town. And Buchert Gardens was like the Disneyworld of gardens.
We went up a week early before an Alaskan cruise and divided our time between Victoria and Vancouver which are a ferry ride away from each other. Two fantastic vacation destinations.

Nashville would be a great option.

Or rent a cabin in the pigeon forge area.

Yeah, that'd be a great option! Maybe stay at the Ventana Inn / Big Sur?

The whole area is gorgeous. Great restaurants. Pebble Beach.

We stayed in Monterey at the Pacific Grove Inn (many years ago!) and drove over. Great place to consider. Has an amazing Aquarium.

If you go to the Big Sur area, be sure to stop at Nepenthe’s for a meal. Gorgeous views; historic restaurant. Ate here during a long-ago road trip from SF to LA on Hwy. 1. Memorable! It even has a page on Wikipedia detailing the history of the place.

On a $2k budget? Exactly how high are you right now HGG?

Do you both have passports? Mexico City would be a great option.
