Give me the must see/experience things.
ETA: I'll also be spending a few days and Portland and driving between Portland and Seattle. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

There are lots of things in this link.
Seattle things imbedded
Here is what we did just last week:
Went to Pikes Market and had coffee at the original Starbucks. Maybe a bit hokey, but I liked it.
Ate a pastry next door at a place called Piroshky Piroshky-very good
Walked to the Columbia Tower (MUCH taller than the Space Needle and 1/3 the cost) to take in all the views.
Walked down to the Ferry and took it over to Bainbridge Island. Ate lunch and sampled beer and ciders at Harbor Public House.
Rode the ferris wheel on the walk back to the hotel.
That night went to Capitol Cider and tried a bunch of amazing ciders.

I just did this same thing. I really enjoyed a grunge/Nirvana/Pearl Jam tour. Google Stalking Seattle if you are interested.
Also, the Chihuly glass exhibit was unbelievable. I recommend it.

Also, there is a good and recent Portland thread on the board. Typing from phone so can't find it.

How much time will you be spending in Portland?

There are tons of good recommendations in my recent Portland thread.

Dude - did you take your trip, yet? If yes, how'd it go?

I'd plan a half day at the market and downtown area. I'd probably do a grunge or other very localized tour. Do you have time to go out to puget sound as part of your trip outside of seattle? My parents saw whales on both parts of their ferry trip last summer just to across the sound I don't remember where they went, but I would consider that.
I enjoyed the salmon lock and that was a nice area of town also to spend a couple of hours. There were some cool bars and breweries but with that little of time they don't stick out as being must see and you being in Portland also those are better.

I did the Seattle Food Tour and thought it was worth it and a good way to spend a couple of hours. Takes you mostly through Pike Place market.

Negative, leaving next month. Set up to stay at different places off of AirBnb to get different experiences while we are there.

Cool. The weather should be nice. We've had a cool spring - the high temp today will be 65 degrees. This weekend will be perfect - upper 70's and sunny. Next week, we're getting into the 80's, and it will be in the low to mid 80's for the foreseeable future. If it gets too hot, go to the beach or to the mountains. If you're used to deep south hot, this will be very pleasant for you, unless one of your AirBnB locations doesn't have AC...

Definitely check on the a/c thing. I was about to finalize one if Portland. We were there at the tail end of your hot spell when it was like 90 something. Would have been miserable.

Dude - blackberries should be in season when you're here. They are everywhere. You can get all you want for free... Seriously, blackberries are the biggest weed in Oregon. Pull over to the side of any random road, and you can pick 're to your heart's content
