I was searching for some better headphones and notice on Amazon people bought these when buying headphones...so does anyone actually use a small portable amp for their headphones while listening to music on their phone?

Just curious, thanks for any response!

Yes, my Audio Technica ATH M50X's came bundled with a FiiO E12. I like the improvement, but I don't think it's $130 worth of improvement. The only reason I have it is because Adorama had the M50X/FiiO e12 bundled for $200 total.

Appreciate it...just didn't know how much of an improvement it was from just plugging it in straight to your phone..

Those little amps can make a huge difference, really. But it's always a question of bulk to me. I have a Fiio E6, which is just a cheap $27 headphone amp. It's really small, which I love. It really livens up the LG G4's weak onboard amp. I'd like to get something that is even stronger, though, which is why I'm expecting an LG V10 today (ESS onboard DAC that caters to the hifi dudes). Really hope that it's onboard amp is enough to drive my IEMs well without the need for a portable amp.
