I have two options for running the cables. Neither will be easy without busting out sheetrock. One way (easier) would need 40', and the other 25'.
Is there a big difference in signal between the two?

I'm a little confused. Can't you just tape the new cable to the old one and gently pull it through?
I would highly recommend if you haven't to get the latest HDMI that supports 4K and maybe Ethernet too so you're future proofed for awhile.
We're talking like $10 for the cable from monoprice and yes, make sure it's in-wall rated.

It should be that easy but I installed my HDMI when I was building the house. I bought too long of a cable originally and looped and stapled it inside my fireplace wall. Lol
Will see if I can undo that. Yes I'm a dumbass.
