And...my initial impression? I think it sucks. Seriously.

It's simply too damn wide. I can't get a good grip on it for one hand one thumb operation. I don't have big hands ( fortunately my most important organ doesn't follow this lead).

There's just no way my thumb can readily reach across the screen with having to shift placement in my hand.

Truly unbelievable.

Maybe I'll get used to it, but right now, frankly it feels like a suck arse Droid. Sacrifice useful functionality for the sake of a slightly bigger screen and just be forced into two handed operation. I'm trying it on Zoom view right now but I don't see much difference.

Ive and Cook have taken 7 years of the perfect form factor and royally screwed the fricking pooch.

You need to push the 6Plus cause of market demand? Great, awesome, go for it. Make em happy. Rip Samsung a new a-hole.

But why in the world do you have to go and shite the bed on the 6?
Make 3 gatdamn models if that's what it takes.

Jobs must be churning in his Urn right now...

I can hold it just fine. The problem is it's too wide for my thumb to reach from top to bottom and across to all the corners.
Example --I got TD open on Safari. I can just hit the menus button at the top. But I cannot physically reach the backspace button in the bottom left corner without adjusting my grip.

I've never had to do that in 7 years.

Does a single phone really warrant so much real estate on the TB?

Nah. We could fill the TECH board with "what's for dinner threads" instead of talking about the most influential piece of tech to come along every two years.

Return phone, buy iPhone 5s, problem solved. The 6 is only a bit faster than the 5s and that one is still for sale, $150 cheaper for the 32gb version.

Well I've still got my S so I'm going to really think about doing that. if it's bothering me. I promise it's gonna bother millions of users.

WTF Apple? Problem is unless they reverse course I'm never gonna have an option and sooner or later I gotta upgrade. Might as well just suck it up and get used to it.

FML.

It is kind of a shock at first but muscle memory is a beautiful thing. It will be second nature in no time.

You're probably right. But 7 years of doing it the exact same way is Fing my shite up right now. Ima let it go and give it a few weeks. Hopefully I'm just laughing about it by then.

Otherwise I'm digging the phone & ios8. No issues at all so far.

Wait.. the 4.7 is too big?

I actually thought Apple fricked up by having two sizes. Should have just did a 4.7-5.0 and called it a day.
