Verizon vs AT&T

For those of you in Louisiana who have had both, which do you have now? Why did you change? Any reason now why you are thinking of switching back?
I currently have AT&T, but the service seems pretty spotty at times. this is mostly an issue of safety when our kids call or vice Versace and it goes straight to VM without ringing two or three times before calls actually go through.
Thank you for the insight in advance.

I have Verizon on my work cell and AT&T for personal. Overall I'd say that the Verizon phone gets better coverage than my personal phone. I'm still with AT&T on my personal phone because I have the grandfathered unlimited plan. The coverage isn't bad enough that it would drive me to switch. The main area where the Verizon coverage is better is at my house.

You need to figure out the locations you frequent the most, and see if anyone has Verizon that can provide some insight on coverage in those areas.
In a major city, every carrier usually has excellent coverage. In rural areas, I believe is where att and Verizon set themselves apart from the rest. Anecdotally, I believe Verizon is supposed to be better than att in the rural areas.

I've had both. It was Verizon hands down when I switched but that was several years ago. A few years prior to that, it was AT&T if you were on the coast/in rural areas but that changed as Verizon expanded and technology changed.
My point being, whatever it is today may change in a few years. For my money it is still Verizon.

I had AT&T for 10 years until this year, when I switched to Verizon for a few months (I then switched to Sprint due to being able to get a free year of service from them).
Verizon had better coverage I think, but AT&T's coverage was still excellent. AT&T's data speeds were better I think, but Verizon's speeds were still excellent; the exception to that being in rural areas where LTE is not available, AT&T's 3G speeds beat the absolute shite out of Verizon's 3G speeds which were limited by CDMA technology's awful 3G speed.
