I have an 8 year old CyberPower 1500VA UPS that I think died on me Wednesday. It was sounding a long continuous beep, so I turned it off, and now it won't turn back on. It just blinks the lights on the front a few times then gives up. I pulled the battery, and tried turning it on without the battery, and same results. Should I go with another CyberPower, or is there another brand that I will get more bang for my buck?

Newegg shellshocker today: 1350VA $110

Came across this Costco: 1350VA $118 after tax, but not able to go through the checkout process, and can't pull it up on the main Costco site. Not sure if they actually carry it in store or not.

Get a new battery. They only last 2-3 years.

Is there a way to test if the battery is the problem? I was hoping that just taking the battery out and trying to use it without the battery would let me know if the battery was the problem.

It should beep or have a flashing light to let you know that the battery is low. That's probably the beep that you are hearing.

It was a solid long sound until I turned it off. Once powered down, it would not turn back on. I do see "worn out battery" as a possible cause. LINK

I will contact their tech support. Hopefully it is just the battery. If not, back to my original question, is there a better UPS for the money?

Costco in BR has a battery backup that looks similar, but I can't say if its that model.

I prefer Eaton first, APC second.

Eaton tends to be more expensive though

If that CyberPower is 8 years old the battery has probably been shot for a while.
