Trying to stream live TV on computer but freezes

I'm currently at work trying to stream the NCAA games but after 5 seconds of streaming the video loading symbol populates and keeps circling. This has happened when I try to watch other live TV. Does anyone know how to fix it??
I don't plan on calling IT to fix this issue even though I've debated it.

Sounds like your network has a problem.

What are you watching it on?
I ask because my AppleTV's and Roku's (the actual boxes) stream great. However, I have noticed lately that my Amazon fire stick freezes and craps out a lot and even restarts when it gets low to crappy wifi signal.

Welp, scrap what I said then.
1) Try and use a direct connection via Ethernet cable from laptop to router. Does problem still exist? If so, you're speed is too slow to stream OR whoever you're streaming could be overloaded and fully saturated
2) If you're wifi only, try and get as close as possible but still most of my comments from #1 above apply to this item as well

A dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts every week dropped off at IT works wonders! I used this trick for years. Things magically got fixed. Everyone could disavow knowledge of any wrongdoing....
