If all the lights on the modem are not solid, you need to call Cox. The only one that should blink says pc or activity.

Mine has slowed down since the upgrade.
I have the Premier package and I'm getting 21 Mbps download and 12 Mbps upload.
What's up ?

Everything has been fine today. I couldn't tell you what speeds I'm getting because I haven't logged into my desktop/server in 6 months.

Our wifi devices are limited by our old arse router.

Same problem in Lafayette a few weeks ago. I had to order an upgraded modem and have their tech support on the Cox forums run some kind of restart. I'm getting around 50mbps with Premier now.

Restarted my router and modem and all systems a few times last night and I was finally able to get 50mbps. It does cut out every now and then though. But it could be my Belkin router doing that.

I just had Cox installed at my house. Supposed to be getting 100, and I'm getting 25-30....

A tech is supposed to be coming to my house today at 4 to check it all out.

So the tech came out this afternoon and said since I'm on the premier, not ultimate, that I will only get up to 50mbps, if that...

I thought they doubled their internet speeds for their different plans?

If that's the case, I may be cancelling Cox before I ever really use it.

I have the premier package and was told today I would have a boost of 100 mbps. I moved into a new place last week and called today to transfer my services.

Will run a speedtest when I get home in an hr.

Got off the phone with tech support and they said that the internet speeds were doubled in the new orleans area on september 23rd, and that I should definitely be getting the 100mbps on the premier package... now have to wait for a tech to come back out on Wednesday to check the lines and see why I'm not hitting the right speeds.

They are doubling speeds. We haven't gotten it out here in Laffy yet, though.

I'm going through this same bullshite right now. Pulling about 30 down and 15 up on the premier package. In the uptown new Orleans area.

First tech shows up last weekend. Tells me the issue is at the pole and that a work order would be placed to fix it. See a lift truck working on the pole later the next week. No change in speed.

Cox says they need to send out another tech. Will report back after he stops by tomorrow...

UPDATE

Had Cox tech out and was told several times that Cox does not guarantee wireless speeds....only wired.
That being said, he called another tech out and replaced the cable from the box to the house with a larger cable. I initially got a 94 Mbps download signal but since it is between 40 - 60.
I'm glad I don't pay more for the doubled speed but beginning to think it was more smoke and mirrors that actual speed increase.
