Ok, here's some results after doing some testing on whether the Hot Spot counts toward your data. I used #932# from the dialer to view usage. #932# is instantaneous and seems to be the most accurate method to monitor data.

First off I streamed some Netflix to my laptop through the browser. I didn't take any measurements because the data was obviously running.

Then I though maybe it's the browser so I tethered another disconnected phone through the Hot Spot and continued the movie through the android Netflix app and here are the results:

7846.73 MB at start
7846.82 MB at 5.5 min
7846.85 MB at 11 min
7846.90 MB at 16 min

I wanted to duplicate so I did the browser test through the computer again and here's what I got:

7849.61 MB at start
7855.36 MB ~ 3 min
7884.70 MB ~ 6 min

Then, I went back to watching on the tethered phone through the app. Here's what I got. (In case anyone is confused I just started using time here in 5 min intervals)

7887.87 MB 11:59
7887.88 MB 12:04
7887.91 MB 12:09
7887.96 MB 12:14
7887.97 MB 12:19
7888.05 MB 12:24
7888.05 MB 12:29
7888.05 MB 12:34
7888.05 MB 12:39
7888.06 MB 12.44
7888.08 MB 12:49
7888.13 MB 12:54

Using the same computer that was counting data through the browser, I downloaded the Netflix Universal/Metro app from the Windows Store and gave it a try. Here's what I got:

7897.28 MB 1:38
7897.39 MB 1:43
7897.41 MB 1:48
7897.42 MB 1:53
7897.48 MB 1:58
7897.49 MB 2:03
7897.49 MB 2.08
7897.50 MB 2:13
7897.52 MB 2.18

As you can see, it appears it isn't counting data when tethered using the app on another android phone or through the Universal/Metro app from the Windows Store, but it is through the browser on a computer. I'm guessing the few KB of data being used while tethering with the phone and Universal/Metro apps is just background data from both devices. I'm on the 10GB4ALL plan with the 10GB add on so I'm not unlimited. Someone else tested Netflix and HBO Go tethered to an Ipad and he said that it didn't count data either. Has anyone else done any testing that they want to share?

Here's what happened what happened when streaming Netflix to a Roku:

Roku 1:

* 7952.49 MB 5:56
* 7952.52 MB 6:01
* Incoming text and buffering
* 8017.99 MB 6:06
* 8023.60 MB 6:11(End Show)

Roku 2:

* 8024.20 MB 6:17
* 8024.31 MB 6:22
* 8024.37 MB 6:27
* 8024.37 MB 6:32
* 8024.42 MB 6:37
* 8024.48 MB 6:42
* 8024.53 MB 6:47
* 8024.55 MB 6:52
* 8024.59 MB 6:57
* 8024.63 Mb 7:02 (End Show)

Roku 3

* 80177.11 MB 7:43
* 80233.70 MB 7:48(I Stopped Show)

Roku 4

* 8239.67 7:57
* 8239.72 8:02
* 8239.77 8:07
* 8239.83 8:12
* 8239.92 8:17
* Phone Call Answered
* 8239.95 8:22
* 8239.97 8:27
* 8239.98 8:32
* 8239.98 8:37(End Show)

As you can see for Netflix on Roku, it seemed that data mainly did not to count, but it appears that the hand shake was lost at different times and then it started to be counted.
