Just give me a phone with a premium build, a good processor, and expandable memory.

Define premium build. If you want a premium screen battery life will suffer.

When I pick up any other phone the screen looks cheap and I feel like I'm watching TV at my grandma's house in the country

I guess you watch a lot of home movies in 4k?

I'm convinced Samsung zaps the battery on older phones for awhile. My Note 5 wouldn't last until lunch. Got a minor update (not Nougat) and now it's like brand new. Lasts 15+ hours.

I feel like every phone I've ever owned has solid battery life the first year, then around that 1 year mark, it gets substantially worse.

Currently experiencing that with my Nexus 6P, battery life on this thing is terrible now, but it wasn't the 1st year or so I had it.

I never play games and hardly ever watch videos but I surf the internet a lot, text a lot, and talk a lot. My LG X Power can go two or three days without charging.

My G4 would literally take 4 hours to charge and it would die multiple times per day with a small fraction of the usage I'm putting on my Pixel.

My G4 is a good phone. Nothing like you describe. Sounds like you had a bad battery which fortunately in the G4 can be easily replaced by the user.

I'm a bit leery of Moto. I had their droid X and it was complete garbage.

I just meant a solid metal body, not the screen

I've got the Moto Z Force and it's a tank.

Had it for about a year so far, still super fast, and great battery life. I surf the web, play games, etc all day and I typically have 30% left.

It's also taken a couple of pretty good falls with no problems. I dropped it and tried to ninja catch it with my foot and ended up Brad Wing'ing it across the concrete. Few scratches, no issues.

My s8+ regularly gets 24-30 hrs on a full charge with on average 4hr screen on time. Not a huge screen on time, but I was getting maybe half of that with same SoT on my Nexus 6p.

Same here! I cut my screen brightness down to about 25 to 30 percent, and it blows my old 6p out of the water. The S8+ is the best phone I've ever owned.

I probably would never have even looked at this phone without this thread. THANK YOU!

I got tired of always being conscious of battery life and suddenly needing to be plugged in with my 5x. I had some not so good experiences with Moto in the past. But, reviews were great considering the price of the Play.

So, I found one for under 300 with an unopened JBL speaker mod. I wanted that too.

It was delivered Monday morning. I plugged in while doing the setup. I did not finish everything while plugged in. After getting to 100%, I still had lots of apps to get and download almost 300 songs.

Here we are Wednesday morning. Battery is at 37%, but the kicker is, it says 20 hours left. My Nexus would probably have said 5.

Now, to find a case.
