The GoPro Karma drone

First time I am thinking of getting a drone. The gimbal itself makes for some incredible video.

They throw in the Karma Handle and a nice case for free. A Karma Handle comparable/3-axis gimbal on the open market goes for about $250. I also think they reduced the distortion in the images - flatter horizons. They also incorporate a dedicated screen into the controller. Flight time "as long as 20 minutes"... which translates to 16-17 minutes usable. Extra batteries cost $99.99 - a must have. Phantom 4 batteries go for $129 average. Not as many features as the Phantom 4, but the simplified operation of the Karma should be a drawing card for novices sitting on the sidelines. For $799.99, I think it's a good value - especially when you consider the free stuff.

I was actually coming here to see if anyone had mentioned GoPro's launch of some new stuff yesterday. The drone is cool but I was about 2 days away from buying a Hero 4. I like the simplicity and voice control of the new Hero 5 but it looks like you can no longer swap batteries, instead you get about 2 hours run time then have to do a full recharge. If that is in fact the case then I'll likely just get a cheaper Hero 4.
