I'm thinking it is about time for me to bail on Windows phone.

I should state that I actually have loved my 920.

I was more than a little pissed the way Nokia and Microsoft didn't come out with a new flagship phone and phablet during the purchase transition.

Then they waited because it made sense not to put out another 8.1 phone right before the release of 10 Mobile.

I'm even more pissed that AT&T is the only carrier providing one of the new phones and they aren't even providing the phablet.

TMobile is doing everything humanly possible to steal my business and I think they succeeded with the streaming video news.

My new car only has limited Windows phone support so I can't get the most out of the tech package with Windows. Even if I could, I would get pillaged by AT&T when I obliterate my data with Pandora.

Really looking like my Windows Phone days are over. And heck, I like the damn thing. I've been testing 10 out on my 920 for over a month and I like it although I'm not sure they are going to have a gold version that is really close to actually being gold when it releases later this month.

/sad rant

I love the cowardly down votes without responses.

How about pointing out what you disagree with. Everything I said is 100% fact.

I had the 920 and loved the phone as well as the OS. The only problem I couldn't overcome was app availability and app support.

You do realize you have more options than just Lumia right? HTC One is available with Windows 10, so are others. Samsung is reported very interested in an offering once they get some legal issues ironed out.

I loved the 920, the OS, the camera, everything. I went with the Note 4 a yr ago, and while I've liked android, it's very glitch and the Note 4 camera is horrible. I was very disappointed about Windows not coming out with anything new for 3 yrs

To date, no other company has come close to the style, quality or features of the Lumia line.

Furthermore, that solves NONE of the issues I mentioned.

I still won't be able to get the most out of my Car tech with a windows phone.

I still won't be able to have a carrier provided TMobile phone.

Once again, I'm not knocking the OS. I love the OS and until this point, I haven't missed any Apps but I do want to be able to stream music from my phone in the car and to do that, I need an android or apple phone.

I've been a Microsoft Developer since the early-mid 90's and I'm really disappointed with how Microsoft handled this whole debacle.

I've got a HTC One and its nearing its life end and I'm not certain which way I'm going, but its probably away from MSP.

I've never seen MS drop the ball the way they have on the phone project. I'm not a big fan Google and I'm certainly not an Auburn phone guy. Maybe the Luddite approach to phones and not have one at all.

I'm actually a fairly Pro Microsoft guy.

Heck, I liked Windows 8! Yes 8. Not 8.1. I liked the first iteration.

They dropped the ball on the tiny bit of momentum they had when they released the 920.

Not all of the problems have been caused by Softy. They can't force developers to make apps. Not sure who is at fault for a lack of Google apps.

Carrier exclusives have been a problem but it also might be carrier's unwilling to carry the phone without an exclusive.

I'm not 100% out but it isn't looking good at the moment.

And I still can't believe they are releasing phones on the 20th. My developer build still has plenty of bugs.

If you install Bluestacks on your phone won't that solve the Google apps problem?

If the problem is that AT&T's data rates are killing you then the phone isn't the issue, AT&T is.

The wife and I recently merged phone plans, she was TMobile and I was with Sprint. We both moved to Verizon because TMobile coverage is pretty non-existent in North La and was topped only by the non-existent Customer Service we found when we went by the Sprint store.

tl;dr - check the TMobile coverage for areas you frequent before you decide to move to their network.

Ever been to a product-specific subreddit and seen someone point out a small flaw?

its all about the apps.

unfortunately, only ios and android will provide them to you.

you can hold out as long as you want, but until all the apps you want to enjoy reach a critical mass and exist for windows phone, its a no-go.

No apps because low market share because no apps?

I gots the apps. I truly do not feel like I am missing out on anything I would actually use other than Sirius, and even then, they killed Classic College Radio so I doubt I would even use it on my phone anyway. It's a go.

What mobile platforms do you support?

Currently Wink supports Android mobile and iOS. Download the app for free from the iTunes App Store or Google Play. Wink also supports Apple Watch and Android Wear so you can control your smart products from your wrist.

Do you support Windows or Blackberry?

No. We currently support Android mobile and iOS.

That right there would kill the deal for me.

Its not that the "Major" apps aren't avaliable for windows..but you stray off the freeway at all and you're left out in the cold.

if i can't control the dozens of smart devices in my home from my phone, its useless to me.

that's just one example.

my friend has a windows mobile phone and it was only VERY VERY recently waze was working to the point it was actually useful. it was there in 'spirit' only and lacked any features forever on windows.
