Added a second TV to my garage kitchen this last week and am loving multi-screen for football (thinking about adding a third TV but don't tell my wife)...

That being said, it's cumbersome to control both and would only get worse with more. It's do'able but why not do it right i guess is what i'm saying. If i want both on the same program, i can sync them pretty quickly with the pause button.

That being said, is there something (a box, controller, etc) that i can use to pick and choose what's on each TV? or jump back and forth for audio? One has an external roku, the other has a built in roku, i guess that will pose an issue as well.

two different remotes will be quicker than any appliance..

the same brand of TV, would have just used one remote to work both, but you would probably have to cover the IR sensor of one to change the other

If you want synced video, the video source should not be coming from either of the TVs themselves. You should have an upstream source with the same video signal going to both. For example, have the external Roku on a video receiver that can output simultaneously to two devices.

OP literally just wants a universal remote that has a switch to go to each tv..

as I said, he's better off just using multiple remotes..

if you aren't meant to be on the tech board, don't comment

Meant to reply to @guedeaux, but thanks for your flippant response. I enjoy a good low-fi solution, too, like just using multiple remotes and covering up one IR sensor at a time.

It was not clear at all to me what he wanted.

This is unnecessary. I'd rather see non-applicable comments than this bullshite. Do you think you're CAD or something?

I figured it out on the first read and posted a solution

Actually you didn’t. I meant if I have game x on tv 1 and game y on tv 2, is there something that can swap these two to our game y on tv 1 and x on 2.

I don’t see why you have to be a dick about it. Maybe a perceived “wrong” answer would fit best. Who are you to dole out right and wrong?

What if you have two identical TVs in the same room/setup? How do you control those separately?

Ip control rather than IR.

You could have the sources in one location going into HDMI matrix, hdmi matrix would be going to both TVs.

Video over IP would work as well but is more expensive

yes, two remotes..

what you want is one remote that controls two different streaming devices..

A control system with IP control. If your TV’s are even capable. But this is probably more than you would like to spend.

tell me where I am wrong..

user wants A/B and C/D ..Occasionally, user might want A/D and C/B

the simplest way to do this is to use the remote for each tv and simply change the channel

I can control all of my Roku devices/Roku TVs through the Roku app. I guess mute from the app would only work if it’s a Roku TV, as I doubt a Roku stick could control TV volume. But it could be a simple solution to control each TV individually from one source.
