I'm grandfathered into an unlimited data plan with ATT, but the service has been pretty poor. Dropped calls, dead zone in my living room, if there's a crowd of people, it's hopeless. I've been with them over 10 years and it's pretty much always been crap.

Verizon seems to have better coverage and service for BR, LFT, NOLA.

I was reluctant because of the unlimited plan, but according to my usage statistics, I'm at less than 1GB a month over the past 2 years. I also have a 22% employer discount with ATT.

I currently pay $80/month and look like I can get a 3GB plan with verizon and come out around the same. Even if I don't switch carriers, I think I can do the Next plan and come out around $20 cheaper a month with 3 GB.

Anyone make the switch?

I made the switch last November. I was also grandfathered into the unlimited data. I switched to Verizon's 60$ single line plan with 2 GB. It's been awesome so far. I havent had one dropped call, and I'm saving a good bit each month.

Will be the best decision you've ever made when it comes to cellular service.

I made the switch about two years ago. I also was on the ATT unlimited grandfathered plan. I now have a 3GB plan for VZW and save substantially. The coverage is much, much better as well.

My personal phone is att, and my work phone is Verizon. I don't notice much difference in service unless I'm in a rural area, in which case Verizon is better. Verizon does piss me off because I can't talk on the phone and use the Internet at the same time.

If I try to browse the Internet on my Verizon phone while I'm on a call it does not work. Have you had a different experience?

Here's proof you can do it...

You have to be connected to wifi to talk and use the internet. You cant do it if you are just using data.

I will take an opposing stance. I have a personal ATT and a work Verizon, both iPhone.

The VZW phone works better at my parents lake house (rural area), but it's still not great...at all, but I can get a text out or a phone cal through.

Other than that, ATT > VZW in urban areas, at least for me in Cola, SC. Everyone says that verizon is better, but the VZW is painfully slow compared to my ATT if I doing anything data related.

YMMV

Don't you have to be on VoLTE for data to work during call on Verizon now? I think they call it "Advanced Calling".
