I have ATT and have been happy with the coverage in and around the BR area.

However, I travel annually to Western States about one month in the summer and ATT doesn't work very well at all. It seems in states like Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, etc. the phone won't work unless it is in a major city.

My wife and I both have 5s phones so we are due for an upgrade. Since there are rumors the next iPhone may not have a minijack I wanted to get a 6S now.

Is the coverage with Verizon around Baton Rouge and surrounding areas equivalentl to ATT?

TIA!

I haven't heard of anybody with Verizon complain. I think they actually have better coverage IIRC

Wife has ATT and I have Verizon. We almost always have the same coverage except at the hunting camp. I can't get a signal for shite and she has 3 bars LTE.

Verizon coverage and speed is good, but I'm leaving due to their bullshite. Started out with them at 6GB shared data, which was fine for a few months. One month we went over, then suddenly started going over every month. Upgraded to 8GB, all of a sudden we're using 8.5 ($15 extra). Upgraded to 10, now we're using 10.5-11. So on and so forth.

After doing some digging, I've found that Verizon has been adding "data usage" of up to half a gig between the hours of midnight and 6 AM, when we're both connected to wifi and have background app data turned off. They've even said I was using data during times when I had the data switch turned off.

While their coverage and speed may be better, I never had this shite happen when I was with ATT. I'll be anxiously awaiting my class-action settlement a few years from now.

That's crazy. I always wonder if the data charges are accurate.

You can access your data usage details by logging on to your account. Most of the time, it's broken down on a spreadsheet by time and data amount per line. Sort by time and you'll see how much you're "using" during sleeping hours and while on wifi.

Well I gave up. Sometimes (not often) you get to find out how bad a company is before you are committed.

I spent the last 2 days trying to spend $1700 with Verizon for 2 new phones and service to no avail. Between the website that doesn't work and the feeble phone operators it was an uphill battle. The last straw was the "fraud" department not approving the order since I was having the phones shipped to my wife's workplace as they were being sent signature required.

I don't love AT&T but I'm not going to pay for these kind of unnecessary headaches.
