Solution to Home Wifi

First, I'm sorry if this is a frequent topic I tried to search.
Basically I live on the outskirts of town, I can only get wifi from Comcast, it's $80 a month, and it is terrible. I had to start this thread from my phone because my iPad connection wasn't good enough.
How can I circumvent the traditional way of getting wifi to get something cheap and reliable?

First of all, you're going to have to explain yourself better. Comcast isn't a "wifi provider". They're an internet service provider. Most of the modems they use, however, do happen to supply wifi.
What is terrible? The internet speeds? Or just the speed of the wifi? Wifi refers to the wireless communication between your devices and your AP (access point, usually a modem, router, dedicated AP, etc.).
Generally speaking, cable beats the pants off of other providers for speed of service. If you're at the end of the loop you may be shite out of luck, especially in the "cheap" area.

Have you run an analysis on your network? Checked to see if on a channel with a lot of interference? Checked the router settings to see if the network is broadcasting at full power?

Sorry I forgot to mention I am a novice at this whole deal. My internet speeds are very slow and my connection is not very reliable. I didn't know if there was another way to get internet outside of standard providers like cable companies.

At this point we still don't know if the ISP is sucking in general or if the OP just need to redo his wireless network.

Do you have any devices that you can plug in with a network cable for testing?
Is the wireless crappy no matter where in the house you are?
What if you put the ipad next to the wifi router?
Can you go to Speedtest.net and post the results?

Aren't there some apps that can turn your cellphone into a wifi analyzer?
