so i'm having lunch with the head of google fiber sales in nashville today...

any questions for him i can ask?
comcast has already swooped in and is offering gig packages in my area (franklin, right outside nashville) so waiting on google to run a line out to my house in the middle of nowhere is probably not an option.
any nashville peeps on here have questions in particular?

What do their tv + internet packages look like? I have no idea what kind of channel lineups they have or what the costs will be.
I recently signed up for the Comcast gig because it only caused my x1 service to go up about $30. But I'll probably switch to google if they ever get their shite together and hurry up on laying their lines.

can you really tell the diff. with the gig speed?

I just signed up for it and it hasn't been installed yet. Should get it on Monday, so I'll let you know after that.
At least it wasn't a big increase in my bill. Not to mention that they waive the contract requirement if you also have a tv package (and no install fee either).

Why was Baton Rouge runner up to the first Google Fiber City and it has yet to be added to the list?

New modem is required, and you have to rent it for now; they won't let you use your own. That is included in the $30 increase though. I'm pretty sure it's a combined modem/router.
