Smart home security system options

We had a Brinks system in our old townhouse, and when we moved about 10 years ago they still had the service where they would set you up free at your new place, so we had one installed at our house. We had to add a few sensors but not a bad deal at all. I quit the monitoring on it 3 years ago, and it looks like it is finally crapping out on me. There was an annoying beep at least once a day when the system tried to connect to the monitoring service. The keypad would flash CP for communication problem, and we have to press the cancel button a few times to get it to quit. The siren also would make this annoying clicking sound in the past few months along with the beeping. Last night I tried to arm it, and it wouldn’t turn on. Flashing a CH code, which I found out meant upload/download failure. Not sure if this means between the keypad and the box or something else, but I’m guessing it is time for a replacement.
I want something that can connect to wifi that I can control or get alerts from on my phone. Ideally I would like 5 door sensors, possibly glass break, a siren, and no monthly monitoring or very cheap monitoring. I’ve read that some systems also allow for other smart features like turning on a light when a door opens, controlling cameras, etc. Budget is reasonable, but I don’t want to spend a ton on something when I can get similar features for less. I would also like something that can be upgraded as time goes on, so I might not buy the extra smart features at the start and add those later on. What do y’all recommend?

Look into an Abode system. I don't have one yet but I've been seriously considering it for about a month now. It seems to do everything you are looking for.

I had a Honeywell Lynx touch in my previous house which was great. I miss it a bit. Did monitoring through Acadian security which was $25/mo for cellular monitoring.
Edit: I forgot to mention the lynx touch has modules so you could buy only the wifi or cellular and upgrade later to add redundancy or change monitoring type.
I currently have a wink hub 2 with go control sensors that does alerts to phones, etc. It works well.

We use Cox for our home security, not too bad.

When we bought our home it was hardwired for an alarm already. I decided against monitoring because I think it's a waste of money for my situation. I got a basic honeywell two keypad system. I think it was around $300.00. Then my tech hooked up a little chip in the box that allowed me to connect to it with my phone via connect2go app.
I get a text every time the alarm is armed/disarmed or if it goes off. I can also arm it and disarm it from my phone remotely.
