Should I keep my new 2016 13" MacBook Pro or return it?

I got a new 2016 13" MacBook Pro with touch bar (2.9 GHz, 512 GB Flash, 8 GB RAM) recently. It was an impulse purchase since there was a momentary pricing error on Amazon and the laptop was listed at $1499 instead of $1999 which is the true price. So I got a $500 discount, which was more like $360 if you include the taxes. Since I was a long time Amazon customer, they honored the price. I am loving the machine and it is blazing fast and a solid machine.
Before I got this machine, I had a 2010 MacBook Air that is on its last legs and the base Surface Pro 4 (with the Core M3 processor). Although the SP4 is great, sometimes its lappability leaves a lot to be desired. I always have to be careful about not dropping it, which I already have once and dented the kick stand. If I sell the MacBook Air and the SP4, I might get $800 between the two, if I am lucky. $600-$700 might be more likely. That means I am still out $800 if I decide to keep the new MacBook Pro.
I really have no preference with respect to OS. I am equally comfortable with both macOS and Windows. Also I can always use Boot Camp and load Windows 10 on the Mac if I need to run Windows for some reason.
What would you guys do? Keep the new MacBook Pro or return it and stick with the SP4 and MacBook Air for a couple more years? I only use my laptop for watching videos, surfing the internet and using MS Office.

Return it and sell old Macbook and get a Surface Book. Apple's Mac line, ipad line, ipod and iwatch line will ceaste to exist in two years. But really, I heard they may abandon the iMacs and the way the Macbooks are selling, they may be next. Market share for OSx has dropped from almost 10% to right over 6 in the last three years.

So you're saying iPhones will be all that's left?

Man, I am in nearly the exact same boat.
I bought the non-touch Pro for $1399 on Amazon and it doesn't seem to do anything better than my 2011 Air.
Keyboard sucks, USB-C sucks, battery life is terrible, and I still get the spinning rainbow wheel when I attempt too much at once.
I need to make up my mind this week whether to return to Amazon or keep it.

I'll trade you my 2.9 GHz, 256 GB Flash, 8 GB RAM for it straight up.
ETA:
Keyboard is awesome once you use it for a few days. USB-C sucks? WTF? Smaller, faster, reversible, and thunderbolt support and you think it sucks? Battery life is good (I get about 9 hours). As far as the rainbow wheel...I did get an error that I ran out of RAM once so far, which never happened on my 4 GB 2011 Air, but I am running this machine harder. 50+ safari tabs open, ~20 spreadsheets, mail, twitter, messages, terminal, 1password, Bbedit, and photos were all open when I got the RAM warning.

The only priduct doing well is the iPhone line, so yes, that will be the only thing left.
I am just being fecisous of course. But the marketshare numbers are accurate. They are just over 6% from a record high of almost 10%.

But there are more Macs in the world than at any previous point in Apple's history. It's not a dying line. Watch is the best selling smartwatch. AirPods have been a big hit. While iPad sales are down from it's peak, it's holding steady at about 10 million units per quarter, adding $20B+ of revenue per year to their coffers (iPad alone is bigger than Facebook).

A large factor in the market share is the price, if Apple wanted a large market share they could drop a $500 laptop and that number would sky rocket. Their laptops are not cheap and a HUGE portion of the market goes to what is cheapest and will get be through the next 1-3 years. That is not Apple's niche when it comes to laptops and yes they are a niche brand in that arena.
