Samsung TV Issue

So my 55" Samsung has started doing something new. When I turn it on and access an app on ATV or FTV, the screen goes nearly black. You can still see the image on the screen but its basically a very dim picture. If I turn it off and back on shes good to go. But this is starting to happen more frequently. I have googled the model numbers for any know problems and not sure Im finding what my particular problem is. I have messed with some settings like others have suggested but its still acting up. I am starting to think this is an issue with Apple or Fire TV as strange as it sounds.
Anyone have any ideas on this or is my TV about to kick the bucket?

I gave up on Samsung tv's like 4 years ago. Every one i've had has given me problems from circuit boards needing to be replaced to backlighting going out.

Hey hey, welcome to my LG life this past week. Bought all new LED's and the board connecting to them. TV is less than 2 years old and burning out. Garbage.

Really? I've got this Samsung 55" from 2007 or 2008 that just refuses to die. I'm almost rooting for it to crap out so we can upgrade but damnit, it just won't do it!

I got criticized in another electronics thread on here for saying they just don't make them like they used to.

There were a few models that were prone to a capacitor issue. I got one for less than $4 at Radio Shack and my boyfriend soldered it for me. I found a youtube and it was an easy fix if you are handy, otherwise Sherwood Magnavox will charge you $200 plus to fix.
It was a known problem and there was a fix available from Samsung bt it has expired. (By the way mine is a 55" Samsung as well)
