Saw these two deals today on Amazon.

$797 for 50 Inch 4K Ultra HD Samsung Smart 60HZ

$1297 55 Inch 4K Ultra HD Curved Samsung Smart 120 HZ

Is the curved and refresh rate worth the extra dough? This will be my main tv.Also the repair guy said the main power supply went out on my 2.5 year old LED samsung and that it would cost $399 to repair, figured I might as well get a new one. Thanks.

If you look these are the "black friday pre order special" prices for Amazon apparently based on leaked prices from the big box stores.

Amazon may have PM'd Samsung, but they had some really good prices on their own site as someone mentioned earlier here

I have heard nothing good about curved screens; I think it's a gimmick that will make 3d look like a sound investment.

If you can use basic solder tools, this is an easy (and cheap) fix

ETA- Unless the repair guy actually took your tv apart, it is very likely an issue with bad capacitors on your supply board. Samsung tvs are notorious for this. capacitors are literally $.05-.10 parts that samsung decides to cheap out on for some reason.

I had 4 bad ones on the supply board on one of my samsung tvs. It took me approx 1 hour to fix and is still working like a champ 1 year later.

Curved tv is good only if you're sitting right in front of it. Anyone sitting on the sides doesn't have a good viewing angle. Refresh rate is more important. I'd look for a flat screen and a high refresh rate. I know a lot of people love Samsung, but for me, it's Sony. Less breakage rate. Never had one go out on me. I've had three Samsung tvs go out within four years of purchase.

Yep, for the entire power supply. Very easy fix.

If your power supply can't be found online (unlikely), there are companies that you can send them to that will refurb them very inexpensively as well.

Of course, if I'm the OP, I would use this as an excuse to buy a new TV and then repair the 2 year old one and use it as a bedroom or outdoor TV.

You mind posting your TV's model #?
I'm sure someone here would be able to help you id the correct power supply

If you replace your entire power supply (easiest- little more expensive)
examples of Ebay- samsung power supplies

Or if you feel comfortable with soldering- changing capacitors is cheaper)
If you take a look at your power board and see rounded off capacitors, that is likely your issue.
This is what bad capacitors look like. Rounded tops should be flat
