Have a 40" Model no. UN40H5203 and performed a software update to version 1170 (T-N14MAKUC-1170.1 to be exact). I have had it connected to my router via Ethernet cable for at least 2-3 years. After the update, the TV powered off and back on every two minutes and it's at every four minutes of going off and back on.

I unplugged the cable from the TV and it still would loop until unplugging the it from the backup UPS. Plugged the power cord back without the Ethernet cab and the TV doesn't go through the looping but plug the cable back in and it starts looping again. Never had this happen before when I updated the software. Makes it quite annoying when I want to watch something from my NAS.

Download the latest update (1127), put it on USB stick, and update it.

I'll have to wait on this solution as I don't have my USB stick at home. Didn't see 1127 for my TV a couple of days after the update. Will go look for it. Thanks!

I just realized my mistake in the OP. I mistakenly put the software version as 1107, it is actually 1170. Checked the Samsung website and you're correct on the version there: 1127.0

I guess I can't stepdown the version to 1127, can I?

Usually you cannot downgrade no, even on Samsung Canada their latest update is 1130.

I have a 46" model UN46F6400 that started to do this about 3 months ago. It would power off and on randomly and then stabilize itself. Eventually it became constant as you have described. It certainly could be a software issue with the TV, but I've read online that it might have to do with hardware components on the TV, such as the power supply. I've got my TV sitting aside to be looked at whenever I get some time to focus on it (probably after the holidays).

What I did for the time being to hold me over through football season was to find a cheap TV. I found a $450 50" samsung LED nearby that I bought. Then with a little help/research, I found the same TV priced at $200 at a wal-mart in Massachusetts. I then filed a Discover Price Protection claim to get a refund of $250 to make it a $200 purchase.

That happened to my old Samsung. I've read the capacitors go bad often. I opened it up and some capacitors looked like they could be bad but it was borderline. TV was old so i just chunked it.

Thanks for the extra information guys. I may wait a bit and see what happens or if another software release becomes available, may try to update it. Though, I may end up junking it later.

This is really strange. My Samsung 55" (don't recall the model # off hand) power cycles like this only when using my Fire TV after latest firmware update. I tried calling Samsung but that was like trying to push a chain while standing on my head stacking greasy BB's. Tv works fine on ATV4...

That's odd, man. I tried the wireless adapter last night and it did the same thing as it did wired. TV is well out of warranty so I'm SOL on any service from Samsung. May end up as a stand-alone TV since it works without being networked.
