Recommend a tablet for ~$250

Mother in law wants an iPad but wife and I aren't dropping that much on one. Want something reliable and will mainly be used for surfing the Internet. She's not into apps so she doesn't necessarily need the iPad. That's just the buzzword she knows.

If she has an iPhone I'd get the ipad mini 2. If you don't want an apple I'd get the FireHD10

For the money, I think the Nexus 7 has been the best tablet I've owned so far. What size are you looking for? A Nexus 7 might not be large enough.

iPad mini 2 at Walmart is a great deal, or Best Buy has the mini 4 on sale for 299

I got a Lenovo Tab 2 a10-70 during the Thanksgiving weekend for the kid. 10 inch tablet, 2gb RAM, 16gb storage with expandable micro SD slot upto 64gb. Mighty pleased with it. Me and my wife end up using it a great deal. It's around $180 now at Best Buy, Walmart and almost everywhere.

I got a 32GB Galaxy Tab A 9.7 for $260 a few weeks ago. It's been great so far.
