Can you update from Jarvis to Krypton without having to reinstall Kodi all together? Or is it the standard practice to uninstall Kodi and reinstall new version?

Someone in a different thread said they kept Jarvis when going to 17 and it went smoothly; saved their add one and all that shite. But Kodi says to delete Jarvis first

I used downloader to update it and it worked flawlessly. I did not lose any Kodi data.

I have tried to update using Downloader on 6 different FireTVs, mine and other friends. Update didn't work on any of them. Downloader is great for a new install though.

That was me in the other thread. It's worth a try to just do it over Jarvis. It worked for me and kept my settings. Worst case scenario is it doesn't work right and then you can just delete and start over.
