I found PushBullet recently, which allows me to sync my smartphone with my laptop so basically all notifications to my phone come across my laptop, and I'm able to receive and reply to texts on my laptop, which is a great feature when i'm at work as I'm in my office a lot but also texting a lot for work purposes.

Little did I know, the Pushbullet is a paid app, and I was just on a free trial basically, so my time is up. I'd rather not pay $3.99/month or whatever it is but I don't want to lose those features either.

Not sure if anyone has hard of PushBullet, but does anyone know of any other apps that offer these features for free?

not sure what phone you have, but on Android, there's an app called Airdroid, which does what you want, and a ton more.

you can access your messages, videos, pics that are on your phone from your desktop/laptop

Funny you mention that, I used to have that a long time ago, and obviously I totally forgot about that. Thanks, good call.

I'm open to more suggestions...I could be wrong, but I think I may have stopped using it because for some reason it wouldn't work over my work's Wifi, but i'll try it again and see how it goes.

Dude Pushbullet is definitely worth that amount. I'd pay $10/month for it no problem. Nothing else compares IMO

Let me know your thoughts on what PushBullet offers that AirDroid doesn't that makes it worth paying?

So far, AirDroid seems to offer and do everything PushBullet but for free. I like that PushBullet was a simple Chrome Extension more than having to download the AirDroid program on my phone, but that's about it.

Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow. I'll see if I like the functionality of it more than AirDroid.

There's PulseSMS where it syncs across devices, but it's just for sms/MMS.

$10 one-time fee iirc.

1 thing I've noticed that I'm not liking about AirDroid is that it's not really syncing my actual SMS messages. Meaning, if I leave the house and the laptop is closed, any texts I send/receive do not show up on my Airdroid program on the computer when I return. PushBullet, everything was all synced at all times.

Not sure if there's a setting I'm missing, but that's a bit annoying.

There is a refresh button, so not the biggest deal in the world, but it's always nice when it's all just synced without having to click a button.

MightyText doesn't have(or I can't find) the option to have the pop ups show up on the top right of my computer where I can quickly reply to the text right there and send.

AirDroid has been giving me issues both at home and work where it loses the connection. And even when connected, my texts always need to be refreshed as well as picture messages do not show up in the body of the texts I receive.

The dude above who said PushBullet is worth the $3.99/month may be correct.

Going to try out Join next, see how that goes.

Bump to my old thread.

Anyone still using Airdroid having issues the last couple of days? I can't log in on the computer app, and the entire Airdroid.com website has been down for 2 days.

Anyone else having that issue or know what's going on?

On a 2nd look, it appears that it just won't work from work any more, which is the entire point of me using Airdroid.

May be time to pay up for PushBullet.
