Anyone here using a PS4 (Slim or Pro) to watch PS Vue? If so, how is the quality?

I assume using a PS4 is the best way to run PS Vue.

Not necessarily. I started out running it through the PS4. Then I bought a new tv that was Sony and started running Vue through the built in app on the tv and there's no difference in quality. Actually it's a lot quicker to start watching when you run it straight through the tv.

I'm currently viewing it on the official Sony app on my Sony TV and it just seems like a TV wasn't built to run something like Vue. Seems something like the PS4 would be better.

My main complaints with the smart tv app are the interface is slow and sports still have that streaming look. I know it won't be perfect but I feel it could look better. It also doesn't seem like it's 60fps.

I have preferred the Vue on Ps4 above all else including a FireTv. I have never buffered on the PS4 and I seem to constantly do on Fire

I have it on PS4 and fire TV. No issues with either. I prefer the fire TV just for the remote and also the convinence of having everything else I use on the fire tv.

Is your ps4 ethernet and fire tv wifi? I got a new modem/router and ditched the one cox gave me. My fire tv is as fast or faster than my ps4 and plays sports beautifully now.

Both ethernet. My firetv has been buffering Vue and Kodi. What's weird is I've had FireStick (wifi) and it didn't buffer.

Could I have a bad ethernet cable?

Is there a certain reason why? Like noticeable differences?

I just like the ease of using the remote to switch between Vue, HBO, Netflix, Amazon video, etc. It also takes less time to open Vue on the FireTV than it would if I would turn on my PS4, wait for it to boot up, log into the PS Network (possibly wait for a random arse software update), then open the app. You also have to keep the controller charged in order to use it as the remote. With the FireTV, I just press the center putton to awaken the FireTV, then open the app.

As far as quality goes, there isn't much difference between the two, in my opinion. They both seem to be equal on the speed of using the guide, changing channels, etc.

Fire TV, Nvidia Shield and PS4 (in no particular order) seem to be the best 3 platforms to watch psvue.

That said, PS4 is the only one that supports split screen viewing right now if that is important to you.

Gotcha. I have the Logitech Harmony Companion / All in one smart home remote and hub so I can just use my remote for the PS4.

Tried this out last night for the first time and could not get out of multi-view or select different channels. Ended up having to close the app and restart it. Seriously,
