Bose bluetooth speakers are really good. I have the sound link mini and it is really good and I have a Bravia BRV-X that is weatherproof and it is good but not as good as my Bose.

What do you plan on using it for? Ion makes a great portable speaker for the beach/tailgating/bbqs.

This is the one I have: LINK

If you must stay under $150 try this one:

Just about the same thing, but a little smaller and doesn't have the wheels (I don't really use the wheels anyway)

I have multiple Ion products, and they are all work really well.

Bose SoundLink packs a ton of power into a portable package. And you can't beat this price

DELL - $129

I dunno, sure seems like $35.99 did a pretty good job on beating that price....maybe I'm missing somethin'

Ive been seeing the ION Tailgater speaker for $150 a lot lately. If you want LOUD and quality, that speaker is my favorite tech I own.

You can find good ones for 100-150, but Bluetooth speakers you get what you pay for

The 10-40 dollar ones will do fine and then break

perhaps, but I paid $90 @ costco for exogear one and it just rolled over and died after 6mos

price isn't always the clue [ the exogear is 129.00 retail ]

I also have a braven but it is still going strong.
paid 70

no way to know for sure but try and buy, then see what happens

I was looking for a cheap speaker for the bathroom and to occasionally take out to the pool, so I bought the one you linked. It came in yesterday, but I haven't played with it yet. Should be able to put some time into it this weekend though.

Side note: we need a stickied amazon/ebay thread where people can post the shite they buy for cheap online. I love threads like these because someone usually posts something I am interested in (like a $35 Bluetooth speaker!). I can't help but lurk every TV thread even though I have no need for a new TV. Even the damn vacuum thread almost had me pulling the trigger on one of those, .

OP, Amazon has the Bose Soundlink Mini on sale for $179 right now. Reading the reviews, it appears people vastly prefer the sound quality to it over the smaller, cheaper one. Spend another $30 and get a better unit.

Lol I keep seeing this posted a lot on here. That speaker is not loud nor quality. I had two of them. It wasn't even loud enough for a tailgate and you can't turn volume past 1/2 without distortion.

In use right now!
Very good little speaker for the yard/pool/BBQ
Won't be good for a house party or tailgate, but very good non the less...

So my review of the Oonz Plus for under $40:

It's legit. Smaller than what I though it would be. The Amazon description definitely tells you the size (6"x3"x3"), but the compact size still surprised me when I unboxed it. The sound is great. Very high quality! Even with the volume all the way up, the quality of the sound doesn't decrease. I suggest turning the volume on your phone/device up all of the way first and then adjusting the volume on the speaker to the desired level. That seems to give me the best sound.

As I mentioned, it is a smaller speaker. So if you want something to rock a house party or a tailgate, then I suggest getting something bigger as you may not be able to get that high of volume. If you want something simple for around the house (bathroom, pool, etc...), then I highly suggest it. And it is very easy to take places. Its built sturdy enough to just throw in a bag and take on the go. They do apparently sell a travel case separately specifically for it, but I don't see the need for that with what I plan to do with it.

Also, it had a charge on it when delivered, so I haven't needed to charge it yet. So I can't comment on battery life or charge time. Other reviews claim 3 hours to charge a dead battery until fully charged and that it will run for 15 hours straight on a full battery. If that's accurate, then I'll probably only have to charge it every few months. I also only used it for music, so can't comment on how a movie sounds over it.

I'll bump this thread after I test charging it and play with it a little more. I really can't imagine a much better sound for the price though. Maybe the bass can be a little lower, but it isn't a big issue. That would be my one complaint if I was forced to pick one.

I highly suggest it for someone who wants a speaker for around the house.
