Are OLED screens still the best way to get great black levels or has QLED gotten better at that?

Mini LED TVs have good black levels but in reality, chasing black levels may be a waste of time. it really depends on the content you watch. Chasing blacks but giving up color gamut and brightness to get there is a poor compromise for most people.

I think it is sort of the combination of these two that are the real benefit of Mini LED tvs. If you are going to watch a really bright room, then yeah LED Tvs might have the edge at extreme brightness when it comes to color reproduction.

Otherwise give me the infinite contrast of the OLED display in most normal settings and especially in dark rooms.

Also factor in the wider viewing angles for OLED displays as well.

So it really depends on your setup.

Better motion processing with oled as well.

Only argument for qled is based on value and if placed in a very bright room.

Qled are typically a better value, but oled is unquestionably better picture quality.

QLED still has better color. The gamut is larger compared to OLED.

And the brightness isn't just a bright room issue. It comes down to visual accuracy. No TV can hit 10k nits right now but QLED can at least get the closest meaning the EOTF tracking is better on the best LCD/LED panels compared to OLED.

Maybe that was the case but current OLEDs have more coverage then QLEDs do now.

Sony's A95K has more coverage of the Rec 2020 color space than the X95K. (Even the A80K is better than the X95K)

Samsung's S95B has more coverage of the Rec 2020 color space than the QN95B. The S90C has more coverage than the QN90C.

that would definitely be a new development. In 2021 samsung models, QLED had the best color gamut.

There's a reason theaters are dark.
If you are watching TV in a really bright room then you are doing it wrong.
Dim the lights or draw the curtains.

I was just recently posed with the OLED vs QLED. I went with a 75" Samsung QN90C with the neo qled screen. The picture quality is very good!
