Answer this multiple choice question....

I want my phone to:

A) Easily do almost anything I need it to do.

B) Allow me to do anything I want it to do.

If your answer is A, go with the iPhone.

What do you have now? Unless you have some reason to change you should probably stick with the phone OS you have already and then the question becomes what brand/model to get.

Had an S6 Active got an iPhone 7 because they had a deal and we were trying to save money...I'll be going back to Samsung after once I get my next upgrade.

Apple software updates are garbage and the iOS is way too constricting on what you can do.

Like the person said above:

Do you want to do what you need easily...Or do whatever you want.

What, specifically, do you want to do that iOS will not let you do?

Conversely what do you want to do easily that you cannot do with android?

Install my own launcher, customize my icons, use the same charging adapter that nearly everything else I own uses, have access to a larger selection of free apps and games, open multiple windows at once, have a universal back button, drag and drop files when connected to a PC without installing special software, and choose from a large list of compatible devices that work with different budgets.

Well, I didn't necessarily subscribe to the statement. I have an android phone now. It's about four years old, and it is barely hanging on. I will likely get the iphone X, but I'm not completely sold. My reasons for doing so, if I do, are many, and likely would not be persuasive to anyone else.
