New Honeywell Wi-Fi Thermostat

I just bought a new Honeywell Wi-Fi Thermostat, it's the 7 day programmable one from Home Depot for about $100. Here it is for reference LINK. Well ever since its been installed the damn thing comes on about every 5 minutes. I know it's LA and is hot as hell outside but damn it seems like my AC is never going to last if it keeps cutting on so often. Has anyone found anything about any swing settings or variances? I might put my old one back on just for this reason.

Have you tried adjusting the setting up a few extra degrees to see if it still turns in and off quickly?

Something similar happened to me. I had installed it wrong. If you have older wiring in the house it is a little tricky.

There may also be a delta degree that is set too low. For instance if the delta is 1 degree and the thermostat is set to 70 at 71 it will turn on. See if they have anything about that in instructions

The only thing I had to do was hook up my C wire. It was there but wasn't hooked up. I combined it with my white wire upstairs because the white was already in the C wire spot.

I bought the same one last month. My problem was it would turn the fan on, but only hot air would blow. I called their customer service & they had me up & running in about 5 minutes. There were some extra settings she walked me through that I would have never figured out on my own. I would suggest you call them before returning it.

Does this model have a circulate setting on the fan? If so, the inside fan might come on but the outside unit doesn't run every time.
