Netgear Nighthawk router

I set one of these monsters up today, I was installing internet services and the customer had his own router.
On the plus side, right next to the router I was getting 60 Mbps throughput to speedtest.net (60 Mbps is the limitation of that ISP feed, not the router). Not too bad wireless throughput.
On the negative side, I don't think the range is as good as Ubiquiti APs in my experience.
The Nighthawk is also somewhat "dumb" in changing configuration, every little change requires a reboot which takes a minute or more, not a big deal, just annoying while programming it.

I've had one for about a year and haven't had a consumer model wireless router outperform it. I find it's range far exceeds most I've tried as well.

Supposedly it's cream of the crop in range.

I think it's downfall in the area of range is that it's powered by a DC inverter, while the Ubiquiti equipment is PoE. So, the Nighthawk is going to be sitting on a desk, while the Ubiquiti can be mounted on the ceiling or in the attic, which makes coverage much better than all those little plastic tabs you can pull out.

I bought one about a year ago and I love it. Well worth the money IMO.

I bought the R7000 (AC1900) a couple of months ago and that thing is a beast. Much more than I need for my apartment. I was in Office Depot and in their flier they had it advertised for $99, so I picked it up. I thought I just got an insane deal, but I found out later when reading online about it that it was a misprint (should have been $199 with a $10 gift card included) and they pulled their fliers the next day.

I bought a R7000 for my house a couple months ago for $120 off a guy on craislist (it was new still shrink wrapped in the box). It's been night and day from my old setup. I was looking at setting up a bridge or WAP to add coverage, but with this thing I still have signal halfway down the block.
Very please to say the least.

I have one. I like it. A lot faster than my last wireless router.
