Got a work laptop now and using a little messenger bag type case. It works for just the laptop, but I need to carry a binder with some papers and perhaps some small tools.

I really like this setup from maxpedition, but Id like something a little more professional looking. I dont want a full on backpack as I wont be carrying it around all that much. Anyone know of anything like this?

Confused, you don't want a full backpack, but you ask for something like a backpack.

I know, but it only has one strap and I have no idea what to call it. It carries like a backpack with one strap, but has a really small capacity like a case.

They are called slings, I have had one for my camera stuff for a few years now. Finding one for a laptop may be difficult, depending on the size of the laptop. In my experience, they are often more expensive than a comparable backpack.

eBags has a pretty large selection though
