I got the Neato XV signature pro in the mail over the weekend and either I'm doing something wrong or it's a lemon.

Charged it overnight on it's base in our master bedroom. It cleaned most of the room very sporadic. Not in the back and forth motion advertised. Then within 10 minutes low battery error, and it would not return to it's base. We have used it twice now and same thing, it doesn't even attempt to go back to the charging base. The battery last less than 10 minutes each time.

Anyone had these issues?

No. Call support. They'll replace it.

I had an issue with mine a while back. The dirt bin wouldn't stay shut. I called their customer service and they swapped out the entire unit free of charge.

Have your recipt ready to email/fax them and the SN # and give them a call. They were super easy to deal with.

I got one of the XV-21 when they were the rage on TD, it lasted about a year before the bin kept popping out. They sent me a new one and it was ok for a while, but it is a flawed design and after a couple of months started having the same problems. After about 18 months it started having battery issues, I bought new batteries and that didn't help.

Luckily I bought the 3 year warranty from wal-mart when I purchased it. I sent the unit back, and they gave me a credit for full purchase price. I'm trying to figure out what to buy as a replacement, but will definitely get the extended warranty again no matter which unit I purchase. Considering the Neato botvac D80 since it has been redesigned and dirt bin issues resolved.

There is a button on the charger to switch on or it will do that all the time.

Well that's news to me. I didn't know there was any button on the charger. It charges the neato just fine but it just doesn't return to the base when battery is low.

Update from yesterday: Talked to tech support and they had me do a hard reset and re-calibrate the batteries. Charged it up for 3 hours and then kicked it off. It ran for about 70 minutes before the battery finally crapped out and I had to carry it back to the base.

Still not returning home to finish the cleaning cycle.

Where is your home base located? Is it in an open space? I'd try and move it to a new location and see if it returned back. It might not see the base for some reason.

Update again:

Second full run of the battery re-calibration. Cleaned for 75 minutes then shut off and returned to the charge base.

It appears that all the issues were surrounding improperly calibrated batteries.

I have the botvac they were selling at costco. I love it. Also love the fact if it does suck at one point I can return it.

You have the one with the little side brush for cleaning around the base boards? If so, how well does it work?

Have the botvac 80 and it's incredible. Set to clean daily and does the entire house with a charge in between. Only difference between 80 and D80 seems to be the color and bearings.

Yes, it has the side brush and we love it. Much more capacity than the roomba and much quieter. House is always clean. We run it at 3 am and we never hear it.
