Where you doing s flat rate mail in repair with Apple?
If so they are asssed on a tiered range.
With a cracked display that is most likely a tier two which ups the price for the flat rate repair, as they replace all damaged components, including the display and MLB.

There is a list that shows what each tier covers.
How much are they quoting you for the repair? Also is it Apple or an authorized service center?
