Just got a new VIZIO LED tv. Most channels look amazing. Fox and Fox News both look grainy and not as clear. Is this common knowledge and just a FOX Network thing?

Not sure.

I have a Panasonic plasma I got several years ago. I got to say, everytime I go to someone's house who has an LCD I think the picture looks funny. It's as if it's so sharp everything looks fake. Not sure if it's the nature of the technology or if it's a setting issue, anyone know why?

The correct setting for sharpness is usually the minimum possible. The default setting is usually high enough to cause ringing artifacts.

Fox always looks terrible for me compared to other channels. Especially football games.

FOX is 720p, and almost all other channels are 1080i.

That is not it. ABC and ESPN are 720p and are crystal clear for me. There are a lot of channels in 720p. The majority are 1080i, but in the OPs case that has nothing to do with it.

Yes, fox sucks in the BR area at least

It has to be a local thing with fox 44 or something. Espn and abc look fine and they're in 720p

Every Sunday when I change from fox channel to Redzone channel, the same game on Fox is easily clearer on Redzone channel than the feed on the local fox channel. Same if you watch espn highlights of that game. It has to be a compression issue with fox44 or some crap

It has a lot to do with it. Other things that contribute are the quality of the cameras they use, as well as the quality/capabilities of all of their broadcasting infrastructure. Compression.

ABC/ESPN/Disney has a lot more money than FOX.

I hope my plasma last because I hate that effect and I am super sensitive to the motion lag in LCDs which is the reason I bought a plasma television to begin with.
