Kodi on Apple TV 2

Is jailbreaking an Apple TV 2 and adding Kodi really worth the hassle, or should my girl just get a Fire Stick/TV and sideload Kodi? If the setup isn't too tedious on the Apple TV, what is the best way to jailbreak & install Kodi on an Apple TV 2? I've read that it is a waste of time to install Kodi on Apple TVs because Apple tends to send out updates that reset the Apple TV. Youtube videos regarding the installation all seem to be outdated, so I figured I would ask here.

personally i've never found jailbreaking an apple product worth the hassle. they'll just frick you over on the next update.
just get a $75 fireTV (when it goes on sale) and call it a day.

That's what I figured. I have two FireTVs in my house, and the Kodi install was painless. I was just wondering if I could save her a few bucks and load it on her Apple TV.

Is the FireTV box that much better than the stick? What is the difference?

They don't update Gen 2 anymore, so you don't have to worry about that.
If your goal is just kodi, you could always build a RPi 3 with Recalbox/kodi, so you can have all the emulators/roms of old school gaming.

I did it. Kodi never worked worth a shite on it. Would crash constantly. All the other apps worked fine on it though. The jailbrek didn't mess that up. I had 3 of them. They all looked exactly the same but only one would jailbreak. They were 2 different gens I think? Can't remember but I was pissed lol
Anyway, yes 100% worth buying either a fire tv or a stick. I have 5 of them. So easy to setup. And I'm an apple lover

the difference is essentially RAM
ethernet, 4K, 8x more RAM and faster processor.
you'd be crazy to get the stick over the fireTV esp if you're running kodi
