What are some of the go to accessories other than case and extra batteries?

Plan to film some fishing videos once I get comfortable enough to fly over water.

Which model did you get? I had a II plus, but which model you have will matter regarding accessory needs.

This app supposedly gives the Phantom 3 some of the features of the Phantom 4. Haven't tried it myself, but I've read a few positive reviews.

Yea, there isn't much I'd recommend that you should grab.

Its always nice to keep a spare set of props around in addition to extra batteries.

Also kind of depends on how DIY you want to get. If you don't really want to get too far into DIY, I would just figure out what device you will be using for FPV... phone, tablet, etc. Get a visor that fits whatever device that is. It is kinda hard to see the screens on a bright day without it. EDIT: Something like... 7" LCD hood

IF you do want to venture down into the DIY, there are some really cool things you can look into. One of the things I was working on before I had to put my hobby on the back burner, was setting it up to transmit video and telemetry to a set of HD FPV goggles.

After looking for some of the kits I used to DIY my phantom... it appears that you can buy plug n play kits now.

Goggles

Some people suggested the prop guards, but I found they made the drone a little less stable than without.

Meh. More for overnight tuna trips with 5+ people.

Plenty of downtime to get some cool shots of rigs, boat etc

I've been eyeing it for a while. Just had to say screw it and pull the trigger.

I don't regret it so far.

Picked up a phantom 3 standard in January for 699.00 at best buy. 2 or 3 weeks later they dropped to 499.00. I was pissed.

As far as accessories, get some black carbon fiber props (seems to make it quieter), and a gimbal guard, also carbon fiber. Search on amazon. I had to buy the props from dji directly.

I'll definitely look into the carbon fiber blades.

I did notice the gimbal gets overloaded when landing in tall grass sometimes. Wasn't too happy about that so I'm gonna go ahead and grab a guard for it.

it will reduce the vibrations in the video when you accelerate. Those made a bigger difference than the anti vibration mount for the gimbal.

does teh gimbal come standard on the new models? is it brushless?

I didn't feel like dropping $1500.

I got my Phantom 3 Pro price matched for $699 (normally $999). That's why I pulled the trigger.

The active track and other addons in the app, made it worth the upgrade

I do like how it has collision avoidance, but there are ways to add object tracking to the Phantom 3 that are pretty easy to set up (from what I have been told)
