Just called and threatened to cut DirectTV and go with a steaming option

and they gave me the following
- a one time $50 credit
- a 12 month $50 credit on future billing
- HBO & Cinnemax free for 6 months
- Sunday Ticket for free
They must be feeling the pinch from all the cord cutters because I've never been able to get this much free shite. If I switched over to ATT for my cell service, they were also offering an extra $25 off my bill and HBO for life (my tenure as a customer).

quote:they actually have a very good streaming service of their own perfect for cord cutters.

quote:sorry to break it to you but anyone who has that new unlimited plus plan with AT&T and directv automatically get HBO for free and a $25 credit on DTV. Has nothing to do with your tenure as a customer

I am about to go to war with Spectrum (who swallowed up Time Warner Cable).
fricking bastards increased the bill again ... this time by $20 per month.
It's like these frickers know that there are 2 episodes left in this season of GoT and that football is looming.
I need to explore my cord-cutting options.

how many tv's do you have? DTVNOW is great, works on two devices at a time and HBO is only an extra $5 a month

I had time warner for years, and actually really enjoyed their service. They were always willing to offer a new promo when the old one expired. Once spectrum took over they told me they no longer did that. I switched to directv/uverse internet.

So you're saying you get HBO for life and not only while you're a directv customer(i.e. your tenure as a customer)?
Admittedly, it is an unusual use of the word tenure.

I don't want the headache of asking for discounts every 6 months. $35 for Directv NOW with HBO and Disney works fine for me.

I've been meaning to call and this thread gave me the motivation.
They would only give me $35/month for 12 months, no agreement, or $40/month for 12 months plus Sunday ticket with 12 month agreement. They'd also do something like HBO or Showtime free for six months.
I told then I would think about it and call them back. I'm hoping I can get a little more out of them in a day or two.

I'm finishing my free month with Youtube TV and find it to be very good.
I've currently got a decent deal with Comcast. I'm not ready to cut the cord but would go with YouTube TV.

Still waiting on YouTubeTV to work on devices. Seems worthless to me without that.

When they merged I went form paying $100/month for 50Gb to $100 for 300GB and was able to drop my bill down to $65 for 100GB.
Every week I have to call because my speed drop down to 10 or lower.
I had a scheduled appt. yesterday for 10-11AM. Dude was 6 hours late with no phone call, even after calling to yell at them 3 times and them promising dispatch would call within 30 every time.
When dude finally showed up i cussed him out and said thanks for driving out here now get the frick out.
I wish there was another option for internet here.
I still have an email on my ex wifes cable i use for HBOGO and history.com logins through charter
