iPhone developing a case of "Touch Disease"

My 6+ started showing signs over the weekend, and seems to be approaching the death throes. Out of warranty, since I got it in the first couple of months it was out.
So far, Apple is starting out with charges to fix, but several cases appear on the internet of people getting this waived and units replaced gratis.
Now that a class action lawsuit has been filed, it will be interesting to see how Cupertino responds. It's a known defect.
For now, I will just have to continue with passive-aggressive indignation and hope they do the right thing.
Anybody else out there have better luck getting Apple to step up?

here comes sg_geaux and gfunky to explain how apple's team of excellence did some custom soldering and TLC to the phones to ensure those units dont have the same problem.

But before that, CAD703X is here to throw some shade on anything related to Apple products.

Mine died over a month ago due to this. Out of warranty too. They offered to replace mine with a 6s plus for $600. Great deal.

If you are one of those that upgrade every time there is a new model, maybe this is a good deal. If (like me) you tend to go 2-3 iterations between upgrades, this just sounds like them making more money off an inherently flawed design.
I have never signed on to a class action lawsuit in my life, and have never (knowingly) redeemed an award when I got pulled into one. This may change that.

My 6Plus developed it a few months back. I ended up mailing it to Apple Pie Repair in Lafayette who soldered a new IC Touch chip on the board and shipped it back. The Apple guys acknowledged it was their most common complaint and only offered me a refurb at a slightly discounted rate. I think I spent $150 for the repair and it took a few days to get my phone back. Not many folks do that kind of solder work.

It is. I was being sarcastic. Msrp on my phone was like $899. They offered me $250 for my trade-in. I was like wow awesome deal, and fricking walked out.

My iPhone 6s ...running fine for 1 plus years..suddenly dies at lunch. Stating out with a purplish hue over taking one corner of the phone, the battery starts draining fast, the screen delve the purple haze all over it and with in 1 hours the screen completely failed.
It gets better... I get home and my niece want to borrow an old samsung beater phone because here iPhone 5 screen suddenly stating to go our today.....hmmmmm
